I only became aware of this guitar last week.
The Kingston Swinger
There's one on ebay now or was recently

I had a Kingston one-pickup job - got it at a New Orleans pawnshop about 5 years ago - one of the shops that overcharges for everything - I paid $25.00 for it - I'd say $482 is high.
My dearly departed Kingston:

What's interesting is that Kingston's scooped-out Swinger predates Fender's by 4 years or so.

That is interesting in view of the Fender Swinger history - weird.

It looks a little out of place, I'm not so sure that started life as a trem...

I heard that these guitars are great for slide, which usually means that they suck as regular guitars with terrible action but have a great sound otherwise.

I'd listen to some demos before getting it... IF it sounds bad and you get it then there is no looks-factor to help you re-sell it.

It's because the necks are baseball bats, the string spacing is balls, and the action is sometimes poorly adjustable. However, these pickups generally sound fantastic, especially for slide guitar jammin.
