Hello to all!

Post by martinharispe »

Hey people! , im new here, i just got a 1959 Fender Musicmaster Dakota Red and doing some web searching i found this forum, so here i am.
Wanted to share my short scale.
Since im more a player than a colector i made some modifications to take it more to the strat sound, advices are wellcome!!!.

Well, neck its dated 01/59 , the body its a musicmaster/duosonic 62, it did not came with the tuners or the bridge so i put a Fender American Vintage Hardtail Bridge (in my mind will sound more to an strat),
then i have done the pickguard with a strat more shape and put some seymour duncans ssl-1.The tuners are kluson style.

picks here http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.c ... Id=1582686

video here

hope you like it!
:)

Awesome guitar, I would've kept it as is, but as long as you like it it's all that matters. Welcome, btw.

Dude you made it so fair play man. It's weird because at the end of the day whether vintage or not its yours to do with as you will, just me personally if i wanted a strat type guitar I wouldn't re-shape a '59 musicamaster guard to look like a strat...I'd sell the guitar and get a 70's big headstock oly white strat.

fair dos mate - looks good.

'fair play' = 'good'. If the guitar you have now is great then that is fair play so no need to sell! ;)

Where are you from bro?

Do an demo!

+ you don't need 18,000 for a strat....my strat is 90's basswood photofinish that 99% of guitar forum people think is crap ...but actually I've played it for 17 years and it's fucking great so fuck them and their assumptions all to hell.
