Hi Mike,
Sorry for not reading the entire thread if this info is there but is your Fuzz Face based on the Fulltone '69? It has the same controls.
Since the '69 is no longer in production, that would be pretty great. I wasn't one to believe the hype until I scored one in a trade....and LOVE the thing!

Whats the toggly for?taylornutt wrote:Here is my latest mockup. I moved the direction switch and brightened up the graphic. I am thinking Daphne Blue for the box color to match the Murphmobile.Mike wrote:First thoughts are that the toggle switch there will get in the way of the circuit board for the breaker. Can it be moved up between volume and boost? Jacks can only really be on the sides unless you drop the breaker controls into a triangle. It does look a bit dark also.

I would prefer the sides blue, but let me know if it won't work. When you say the top must be white to make the graphic look correct, is there anything I could do to the photo so you could paint the whole box blue and not have to mask it off?Mike wrote:OK, we'll need Benecol to do is thing with an accurate layout based on part sizes. Do you want the sides of the box Blue? It's a pain in the arse but I can do it. I have to paint the top white to get your graphic to look correct (photorealistic). I forsee masking tape in my future.
We'll need as much space as possible between the footswitches for me to place the saltbreaker circuit board, but it should work.

Directional switch that changes the order of the effects. Something Mike thought up. So I can basically have the Salbooster in front of the Saltbreaker (more gain) or have the Saltbreaker in front of the saltbooster for more volume.Noirie. wrote:Whats the toggly for?taylornutt wrote:Here is my latest mockup. think about how a printer prints bright colours. it doesn't use white ink, it uses more of the white of paper and less of the colour to make it brighter. you make that white paper a blue pedal and suddenly all your colours go crazy.
if the top was blue it'd probably look something like this:

Yeah I don't mean to be rude, but I did tell you I was away until the 1st and unable to do pedal work. And that when I was back it would take 3-4 weeks from then.Doog wrote:I know he's over in Canada for a while longer over Xmas (maybe even New Year), poor sap has had to be working (proper work) throughout the holidays, just so you know.the isaac eaton wrote:any progress on my fuzz factory mike?
I am currently 4000 miles away from my iron and parts. I cannot reach them. I have ordered parts and all that crap for your pedal though. You are number 6 on my order list...

From taking into account Reece's comments, it sounds like making the sides blue may be too much work. I only suggested the blue sides to go along with the graphic, but now that I know it will mean 2 different paint jobs, maybe we should go back to white. The custom graphic is the main point (besides the actual pedal itself) and I don't want to mess that up with a tricky paint job. I went back on the thread and all the white pedals with custom decals looked awesome, so we can do that if it will simply the build.Mike wrote:OK, we'll need Benecol to do is thing with an accurate layout based on part sizes. The edges are what I am worried about as well. I am a detail guy as well and I want the pedal to look good as much as you do. Very difficult to make it look as good as the white. Let's just go with white on the custom pedal. I will do solid color with a see-through graphic on the Fuzzface. Might go with a graphic from the movie "Hot Fuzz". I know your on vacation, so I appreciate you getting back to me.Mike wrote:Well white is the simplest but I can attempt the Daphne sides if you want, it's just a little tricky and the edges never come out perfect unfortunately.

Are you trying to clone me, vile heathen?MrJulius wrote:Is your saltbooster schematic common knowledge?
Take an EHX LPB-1.
Use an 2n5088, and 820K/100K for the base bias resistors, 10K on the collector and 390 ohm on the emitter.
100nF film input cap
47nF film output cap
100K audio pot on output.
Grounded input TB wiring scheme. Have fun!

I sent a PM to Benecol about getting him the graphics for the custom pedal. Once he responds back to me, I will send him what he needs.taylornutt wrote:The edges are what I am worried about as well. For my Fuzzface, I want to just slightly tweek the decal and color from a Fuzzface you did for someone else.
This color

This layout (change "zap" to "DC" and replace the mailbox graphic with your Made by Mike logo) Leave everything else the same. I would want either White Mustang knobs or the Boss knobs.

Let me know what else I can do for you. Thanks.
