BELATED NGD THREAD

Post by BoringPostcards »

mike livesley rules.

I`m selling everything else and only buying Mike.

I think I hooked him some buyers from my Island.
Yea.. MY island.

:P

My salt shaker, saltbooster and fuzzface are all fucking sick and all my buds are cracking up over the quality.
I gave out yr url.

If he`d build a phaser, I`d get rid of my small stone.

My goal is to have a primarily MBM board.

I was gonnna go all Dwarfcraft, but I find Mike`s more practical for my style.

I do love Aen`s work though.

Peace all.

Demoes soon.

I HEAR THAT

I love my MBM Box Of Mike sooo much with my bass*, and it's also now playing BOOSTER on my guitar board, also doubling as a more aggressive overdrive sound!

* I've recently discovered what with a half decent bass amp, the first channel with the gain at about 1/3 gives me the sound I've had in my head for ages. Then I stomp on the booster for proper grind. OH YEAHH.

Awww. Youse guys.

Seriously, comments like this absolutely make my day. Making stuff that ends up making someone happy, or inspired to play, or write is the biggest compliment a guy could wish for.

That's worhty of a full stop. I looked through the gear pics thread, and mike is all over the place! I think most of my customers are too busy with mad science experiemtnts and or BDSM exercise to register and post.

He could rent himself out to squat on your pedalboard, making an increasingly annoyed grimace the further you are out of tune?

Well, if you're at a "hip" gig, usually the Resident Unemployed Music Journalist And Critic Who Can't Play A Note will be in the front row doing that job.

Pfft. Trent Reznor uses your stuff. That awesome bass player in Beck's band uses your stuff.

You're living the dream mate and I couldn't be happier for you.

This is not comfirmed, but anyone who would care to perpetrate this rumor is more than welcome.

But yeah, I kind of Made It! I think we might even buy a House That's Big Enough pretty soon.

Hey Ben.
Of course I will own everything by you someday. Just with the singer songwriter thing right now, the noise element is not fitting.
I'm very frank, and it can come off offensive.

I'll buy a hax in march.

TREW FACT:

i'm assembling a 100% shortscale-built board for use at albq's and jam sessions where i won't have my marshall available. to be included: salt booster (mbm), fat booster (dwarfcraft), modded muff (mbm), and -- coming soon -- eau claire thunder (dwarfcraft). i'm even going to see if st. jimmy will sell me the altoids fuzz made by pens a few years back.

My board has 2 MBM, 2 timhulios, and a whopping 3 dwarfcraft devices. Robot Devil will make 4.

Shortscale pedal love FTW!

There's photo confirmation of Boris using DC, thats proof enough of "making it" for me.

May i add, the MBM 'box of rock' clone i got off Noirie is one of the most brutal pedals i've owned, William Reid would love it. Its so loud i fear for my speaker. A bit temperamental at times though but when its on form its amazing.

Yeah, that's the Boost circuit. I didn't isolate it from the Distortion properly as it was an early. If you roll the boost volume all the way off and don'tturn it on it should perform reliably I think

I recall my rock-box that mike built being loud as all get out aswell. Volume knob past 9-o-clock and it was deafening. LOVED that about it.

So far i've had 6 mbm pedals in my possesion and every one has blown me away. The thrill and sheer fun of sitting down for hours in front of my amp is alone worth the cost of admission. The good thing is that the honeymoon stage never goes away, I'll still play for hours chasing the ever-changing sound in my head with the help of Mike's pedals

Did you sell it on? That one was a fun build as I remember.

They are stupidly loud.

I passed it on to a good friend of mine who thuroughly enjoys it. I still have access to it, I'll have to personally compare it to the HANSOLOS drive soon. Was the first pedal you built for me and it's sent me back for business a time or two since!
