I'm very fond of my Fender 85 red knobby jobby - very loud and cheap when I got it - but I think the Greenwood connection may be hoisting their used price a bit.
I'd certainly seek out an HH - brutally loud, built to last and there's loads on Gumtree etc...
I used to have a VOX Pathfinder a long time ago that was excellent and solid. Not sure what they cost these days. Back when I gigged and sound engineered in the early 90s nearly every other band had a guitarist with a Bandit. I saw someone mention the Roland JC's,have a great sound that is suited for a particular type of sound, offer a great clean jangly sound if matched right.
the smaller JCs don't seem particularly common here on the 2nd hand market though. a JC55 would be a good move IF you can get it for a reasonable price, they're quite gritty little amps.
Check out Crate either "V" Series (tube) or something like my (semi-tube) Crate GT80 DSP, they're available w/two 12" and the digital signal processing in various models for affordable prices.
