your ears will tell you wish one is best for you.aen wrote:i just got both of these. havent reakky heard either one yet, but The Internet says that the 57 is good and the e609 is better. I bought the shure on reputation, and the fact that some of my best guitar tonez came from a 58 with the ball unscrewwed.
thats why i liked the test
it´s dont say buy shure or buy Sennheiser at end he say choice what your ears like more. who is mic01 and mic02 click on link.

Lol, I'm currently using a karaoke mic from Target. Clearly my ears don't work or I'm layering so much dirt it doesn't matter.
Then again, my vocal mic is a shure beta 58a which I love.

i'm always smiling when i see a place is mic'ing cabs with the flat sennheiser but their e906 is far superior, i'm not really an audiophile but if something sounds good you just hear the difference you know. or maybe because the shure 57's are such a standard the sennheiser e's are a nice change but i really think the e906's really shine, i just don't know technically what it is but of you hear it you just know. it's not being anal about sound, i use cheap vocal mics and shure 58's (not the betas) but for micing up stuff live the good stuff does it much more justice, it's just more 'real' sounding the way you hear your amp on stage compared to the sound people in the audience hear, the e906 does your gear more justice.

I liked Mic 2 better...
Interestingly, I've got one of those and the other guitarist in my band has the other.
I feel vindicated.

If either one of those is a "people on the internet" mic it's definitely the e609.

i always forget to mention that i really like the e609 on TOMS. I just recorded some drums and used the e609 on floor tom and it's awesome!
the e609 has amazing off axis rejection which why i love it for live use, and for toms it doesn't pick up so much of the rest of the kit, which is always a plus.
LUV IT.

I had no idea CADs we good at anything. I always see a 6 piece "drum pack" going for like $99 in the local classifieds but always turn my nose up to it because I've heard bad things about them. Should even be considering picking this up?lank81 wrote:Sloan,
Have you tried the Cad M179 on Toms? Man does that mic rock on almost all drum pieces. Its a condenser with like 5 patterns as well...very versatile. Decent on Cabs and Vox as well.
