that music master neck has the same 10-60 mark as mine, but looks WAY better, mine has no finish left and that one is still shiny.
sucks about the re-fin, but it is in great shape for its age, the price is a bit much still.
cool checking huh? must be nitro. but wait... it's a 1968...
didn't fender start using poly in '68? I think this must be one of the last nitro mustangs.
Slab fretboards are like on the left, veneer on the right.
For bodies, slab means no contours which is how early Mustangs came, with later being contoured. I have no idea how you're supposed to be able to feel the difference between slab and veneer fretboards, though. It seems to be a 'slab is better because it's how they used to do it' type thing like so many guitar mojo things.
My MusicMaster bass has a rosewood veneer fretboard and I can't tell any difference between it and my 'slab' fretboard guitars. A bit of a pain in the ass though as I have to replace the truss rod in it and I imagine the curve and thinness will end up making the job more difficult.
of course you can't tell the difference. IMO, anyone who says they can "feel" the difference between a slab and a veneer fretboard is full of crap. if you like one or the other aesthetically is another thing. veneer is a little more unique since, as far as I know, fender doesn't make them like that anymore.

Ahh! Cheers! I THOUGHT that's what it was, but could never find anything to back up my hunch.
