yeah, the allen woody is most likely what I will get. Are the necks fairly thin on them?

Don't know if you meant "bass slapping" literally but be aware that a hollowbody bass with a wooden footy bridge (such as that on viola-shaped beatle style basses and that eastwood gretschy thing) are a no-slap zone.
