signal splitter for running up to 4 amps...
Does any wiring wizard here know if I can do this just passive wiring and switches? Or will that suck? a friend of mine is looking for a one input/four output box to send his guitar to 4 amps, and I would build it if I knew a sure fire way.

I've done the passive route for two paths, I'm sure 4 would be the same. Obviously it would be better to build a buffered output with a quad-opamp. I think Geofex has a schem for doing this, it's been a while since I looked that up though.

I don't quite get what you're driving at there..Mike wrote:Definitely don't do passive.
Personally I would insert a 47K/100K between the node where C2 and R3 meet at pin3 and in the feedback loop wire a 100K pot as a variable resistor and then you have some power over mixing aswell.
I would put your 47K/100K between Vbias (where R1, R2, R3 and C1 meet) and pin 2. Then, as you say, put in a pot wired as a variable resistor between pins 1 and 2.

My dream amp rig would be 4 bassmans, 2 on the left, 2 right, set up in stereo.
I could do the intense volume thing to get a rich and complex sound for recording. Another plus is that lots of speakers gives a better sound, even at lower gig volumes.

w would your dream setup be 4 of the same amp? To each their own, but it doesn't mae much sense. Yeah you could EQ them a bit for different sounds, but Iw ould at least go like 4 different fender tube amps if you wanted that fender tone.. Anyways just curious...

I like the sound of lots of speakers. If I preferred a head amp, I'd just use a couple of full stacks. I like the bassman combos, so I'd need 4 full combo amps. Four amps, even the same models EQed the same way, are going to sound slightly different, anyway. But I'm not really looking for a blend of tones; just one tone produced with great definition and robustness.
