Skinny dudes love 'em too because they're so small, thin and light. I consider a tele to be much more fussy for a skinny guy to be walking around with, due to the weight and poking you in the ribs, etc...gaybear wrote: if you have a gut, they're great, if you're a skinny dude, they can be frustrating
Angus Young once said the main reason he plays SGs is because they're the only electric guitar that doesn't look oversized on him.
My friend Smiffy (real name Paul, was causing too much confusion) told me the other day that the first time he saw Angus Young with an SG he figured it was a model custom made for AC/DC to look like Satan.

A1 Music in Oxford Road were cool on second-hand stuff - I left the Strat as security and took the Swinger home to try before I bought it. It's a shame they closed.TheBurbz wrote:Ha, I wish some shops had a loan scheme where you could pay a refundable deposit and borrow a guitar for a week or something.

Funny, i never really looked at these kind of things until recently. Just an update. I was worried about the thick necks on Les Pauls and also about upper fret access so I eventually went with an Explorer, therefore I will almost certainly be selling the Jag. I'm still not sure whether to sell it whole or in parts, I want to get the best price for it.

I didn't put them up intentionally as I know it wont be popular 'round these parts. View at your own peril:
I thought it's time I bought a guitar that suits the music that I listen to.
I have no idea how I would go about parting out this Jaguar. Should I just split it into body/ neck or more than that? electronics/ body/ neck?

It isn't being delivered until Tuesday but I'm sure it'll do fine. Mahogany body, set neck and high output pickups can only mean good things.

I've never listened to either of them but I really should. It's Pantera for meFran wrote:Priest, Maiden, ?TheBurbz wrote:I thought it's time I bought a guitar that suits the music that I listen to.

'Vulgar display of power' has to be one of the greatest Metal albums of the last 25 years imo. Can't fault you, it's a tough call trying to pull off Dimebags style though.TheBurbz wrote:It isn't being delivered until Tuesday but I'm sure it'll do fine. Check 'Painkiller' out by Judas Priest, the guitars are immense although the vocals are annoying.
You were right about the vocals
riffs are good though!
Check out this guy, Edward Box:

I very briefly had lessons with him, I quit after two weeks because he kept trying to teach me Clapton
I just didn't get along with him, it was a shame 'cos he's an amazing player. He's in a band called Vendetta, I've never heard of them but they have CDs out.
