Because say what you want about his band, the guy can play - Mister Brightside is full of stretches and chord arpeggios I can barely play.
But you were talking about some other dude, so ignore me.
That's true. For all I know, Coldplay could also have complicated songs, as could U2. The difference is that although I love playing guitar, and I love some music for the guitar parts, things really do have to work as a whole. And one of the reasons I didn't know Killers stuff was in any way complicated to play was because they're shit. So I've never tried.
My gf's bro was a big Killers fan and (alledgedly) he has a demo copy of Hot Fuss that's quite different from the one that made them famous. A lot less polished and synthy, apparently it sounds ace.
I realise this sounds very much like bullshit but I must ask him to dig it out next time I'm over.
there are alternate versions of the songs i know of 'cause when that album came out i downloaded some songs off it and a few of them were way different to what everyone else had.
the real version of mr brightside still sounds a bit weird to me. i think mine had a different intro and was mixed very differently.

I heard at least 5 different versions of Mr. Brightside.
