I'm inclined to call bullshit on this. Maybe it's stolen?

I called the guy, he seemed like a pretty reasonable dude. I was the first person to call and he said he'd hold it for me till tomorrow, so it's not like he's trying to get rid of it as fast as he can.

His reasoning is that it's refin'd and has the headstock logo sanded off and thus worth way less but all the parts are original so people would want to buy it to make their original finish Mustang basses with non-original parts more original.

He said he was using it as a studio bass and it plays and sounds fine.

Fender Mustang Bass - $200 (Vancouver, WA)

Fender Mustang Bass
Bass has been refinished and the logo is sanded off of the headstock. The pickups, bridge, tuners, and controls are all original (so is the neck.... just no logo)
If you have a Fender Mustang bass and you need parts, this would be a great way to get them.
I will include a gig bag.
Call if you have any questions. I don't have the serial number so I can't accurately date this instrument.
Thanks for looking
Wayne

you need to take it ... for that price you can always drop it here in classifieds. My brother once got an equally good deal on a refinished and refretted 60s Mustang Bass ...300 DM (that's about 220 $ or 155 € ...) sadly he gave it to his ex girlfriend before i could buy it from him.

Got it.

The finish is like sparkly vanilla pudding   Pretty goofy, but I don't mind.

Plays great, sounds great. I'm happy. Who cares of the decal is sanded off?

I can't find the usb cable for my camera so better pictures will have to wait.

the serial on the neck plate is still there.

the guy seemed totally genuine. he said he had it for four years he showed me his fancy home studio and gave me his card for the music store he worked at so it really didn't seem like he was trying to get rid of hot goods.

Neck plate serial is 334778, which apparently is '72, according to this website
