Another thing as well, this guys in Portugal, $157 soon turns into $300 when you consider shipping fee's and import tax.

I'll be starting another JS project this year and im dreading looking for a neck after last time. I'm wondering if i could get one through customs on my US visit, pick up an old Duo neck or something over there. Other than that i might try and make one.

sp3k- If you search ebay systematically the odd one does show up in the EU. Me and Mike saw one soon after i bought his Stang neck.

Go here and click on "basic refinishing" for some very good instructions on how to finish a guitar neck or body. It's actually quite easy, the hardest part is being patient because you have to take your time to do a good job. I've refinished two guitars on my balcony so far, and I'm happy with the results.

edit: the instructions I've linked to show in detail how to make vintage correct nitrocellulose finishes, but you can use the same principles with cheap automotive clear lacquer that comes in an aerosol spray can.

I have family in the states, so i probably can get them to send me the neck has a "gift" or "broken parts" or something like that. Or since my family goes there at least once a year i can wait and they can bring it with them. I've done both with pedals and never had a problem. Thanks for the heads up! but since i won't have money for some time after i get the body, i might end up trying to find a good deal on eu ebay.

Thanks for the refinishing info astro and pens. I'll try and refinish the body i'm getting, so those links will help a lot.

Okay, I just realized the thing about the Warmoth neck that fucking sucks: They won't do a 7 1/4" radius at all on the 24" necks, and unless you want their bullshit "Compound radius" you gotta pay an extra $35.

So fuck them I won't do that unless I'm completely stuck.

I would suggest that Allparts neck in light of this bullshit.

What motherless piece of shit does that to a poor Bronco? Maybe it's an easy fix though. Maple is forgiving.

I have done so much spray painting now I get tired just thinking about it. But I don't know where I would be without it. It's been a kickass experiment. Sometimes you have to go through the rabbit hole to get anywhere.

If you are just starting out, try to make it as easy on yourself as possible. Don't take on too much. There's plenty of info out there. Just look for acrylic lacquer.

Pardon? How the fuck does pointing out that they won't do a vintage radius make me a drama queen?

Care to point me in the direction of someone that makes lefty 24" scale necks with the proper radius then, slut?

Spread your legs over here for 24" necks with a vintage radius. The ehadstock isn't completely a true Fender type, but it's nothing that 5 minutes with sand paper can't correct.

That's a new one, thanks. $238 is a bit steep for a rosewood/maple neck, but if it comes down to it...
