Supersonic WEIRD BUZZ SOUND ON B STRANG
Okay, so I've been working on this Supersonic for a few weeks.
One issue I just cannot seem to get fixed is this really odd buzz on the B string, sometimes also on the high E.
It shows up when open. I tried filling the nut slot with glue and recutting, to make it higher, still there.
Raised the saddle, still there.
Neck is straight.
I then got pissed at the bridge with it's weird saddles and shit, and after having the second fucking G string break in two weeks when doing a saddle adjustment I grabbed the strat bridge from my old Peavey, and installed that.
Yeah, the fucking buzz is still there.
This is with the action so high it's unplayable. I sighted down the neck while plucking it and it's not hitting a fret. It is not a fret.
Careful following of the sound with my ear next to it indicates its somewhere in the headstock area, but I cannot find anything there that might be loose.
THIS IS DRIVING ME FUCKING INSANE I NEED TO FIND AND FIX THIS. HELP PLEASE.

The neck is straight. I made sure the truss rod is right.
I do my own setups. I have never had this problem with my Jag and that has extremely nice low action.
This is NOT THE STRING HITTING A FRET. IT IS SOMEWHERE IN THE HEADSTOCK.

I've come across random buzzes and it's fucking annoying. Check the tuners for any rattlyvloose stuff. I once had a bushing that sorta screwed down and the thread was gone and it use to reverberate at certain pitches.... Could even be something in the body and the sound is more audible headstock end. One of my guitars has a broken trem ground and that wire buzzes away against the plate through vibration.
Sorry not much help but if in doubt start removing and checking the other fittings starting with the tuners?

Okay, now we are getting somewhere.
I thought maybe a string tree, there are two on these. I tried to tightening them down but that didn't help.
I'm going to check into replacing the tuners and I'll report back if that fixes it.
Thanks.
EDIT: I just checked the tuning pegs with the strings off, yeah the G and B pegs are mega fucking loose like I can wiggle them back and forth. The others don't do this.
I'm gonna locate some new tuners. I was not happy with the low E one anyway as it was acting weird (like it feels loose when tuning) so this was on my list of things to replace.

Sounds to me like you might have a rattling truss rod. I had this on the Motorik and had holes drilled through the fret board glue injected to try and elliminate the problem.
The good thing about the supersonic is you have access to it from the headstock ie. an opening.
see here... http://www.frets.com/fretspages/luthier ... ssrod.html
Try giving the truss rod a slight turn one way or another first, this might kill that buzz... or just loosen it slightly to give it a little more relief. The neck should never be dead straight.
& Before replacing the tuners, I'd just wrap them up blue tak first to avoid wasting money...

Based on that page, I tried rapping on several areas and I believe it is in fact the truss rod, right around the 5th fret. When I tap there with the strings completely off I get a high pitched metallic ping where everywhere else, including the headstock, is the standard wood rap.
Has anyone ever done this whole dribble-thin-glue-down-truss-rod thing before? I'm a tad scared to attempt this, to be honest.
