While EPFM is a cool book for learning the basics of musical electronics and whatnot, the projects in it are so out of date that getting specific parts for them is a crapshoot.

There are integrated circuits that he uses that havent been made since 1962.

It's a great book - loads of famous effects are based on circuits he came up with. Also, in terms of getting the kit, I believe paia stocks almost all of it.
