Shine's pickups are ace. I bought a cheap Strat copy of theirs 'cause it was in surf green, it wasn't terribly good, except for the pickups. I think it was Eric who told me about Shine being the Epiphone factory's own make, so their pickups are essentially Epiphone, or something 0_o

I think this would be cooler with a Jazzmaster style pickguard and switching configuration.

Also, I really dislike where the put the input jack.

Yup, alot of stuff in the Epiphone range is made by all sorts of different factories. I don't think it's as centralised as the Fender-Squier setup, which is why you had those cheap Epiphone valve amps a few years ago that popped up all over the place with different names slapped on them.

It's just a mystery as to why the Shine guitars, which are essentially made by exactly the same people, machines and tools as Epiphones tend to be so much worse than an Epiphone. Like you said, pickups are pretty fab, but what's going on with the actual guitars? They could do better. We know this to be true.

I posted these up a while back, i remember Robroe having a bonrar about the 3-way being between the pots.
A lot of these 'budget' guitars are awesome. I tell thee, if i ever get famous lol im gonna endorse a small brand just to show the kids they dont have to be eternally bumfucked because they chose to play guitar. More and more players are already doing this, i know people endorse Vintage and GFS own brand besides others.

I've seen that guitar made by at least 20 different "companies".
