Wow, thanks for the heads up on that. I have 2 Boss pedals placed in my chain already so thought that would take care of my buffer needs? I suppose it's not as simple as that.

Is putting a buffer in front and at the end of a chain usually a good idea?

yes it is, but unfortunately it's clear that the buffer in the Behringer is a bit crap and colours the sound. Ideally a buffer is transparent.

I've just got home and had a switch around. Putting the tuner right at the end has made the signal quite a bit nicer and clearer, especially on clean and in full swing it's a bit quieter - got a Guyatone Comp at the front which I think is buffered too(?). May have to decide whether the tuner or Verbzilla goes right at the end but sounds fine for now. Ta much!
