The trem is locked down at the moment because the guitar did not come with the trem arm.
In working condition, they look like this:

There's a spring between the two plates. if you take it appart, you can lock the top plate down by removing the spring and tucking it under those two tabs you see jutting out of the bottom plate.

Haze: the trem arm is fitted in that tube and is held in place by a thumb screw.

Yeah, same here. I've been in need of a good humbuckered guitar for a while, I've already shifted a few. I think this is a keeper.
This is a a HIIN transition model. as opposed to "proper" HIINs, this has the 6 in line headstock, of all the Hagstroms, this is the one I wanted.

I plan to put Chrome covers on these pups, to make it look stock.

If you don't have a use for it, I will gladly buy it off of you.

The arm goes into the shorter, larger cylinder and is held in place by a screw.

http://www.hagstromparts.se/

Scroll down to about halfway doen the page, on the left hand side, under "WHAMMY-BAR, TREMAR"

They sell the complete trem system as well as individual parts. No idea on pricing, though.

(I'll buy you a fucking case!)

exactly dude. the HIIN w/ humbuckers and 6 in line is one of the hottest 2-humby guitars of all time. so, nice score! :)
chrome covers are class, but open are... no-class. *cues motorhead*

Thanks, dude! I'll pay ships or come up with something cool to send your way.

Thanks and yeah, Labatt 50 is definitely a bit shit but it's one of the only cheap beers that I can tolerate at room temperature.
Since we don't have a fridge at the space, 50 has become standard rehearsal swill.

Smoking hot new bassist? Need pics. Cool guitar, I always regret not getting one when I had the chance. What's the sound like/what would you compare it to?

serfx: Thanks a million, dude! I'll PM you my deets a bit later on. I'm trying to think of shit I could send you. I'm going to the Fucked Up/Kurt Vile show tonight, I'll see if I can find you something cool from the merch table...

colabonham: I guess the easiest comparison I can draw would be with an SG. Body thickness, German carve, weight, electronic config, that sort of shit.
The neck on these is a pretty unique story... It's unbelievably thin and shallow with almost no taper and the fretboard radius is very flat. Despite this, the neck manages to not feel particularly shredder-like to me but then again, I have freakishly small hands.

Contrary to what the seller told me, my snooping has shown the pickups in this to be either Rockfeild Mafias or Turbos.
One way or another, they are way, way hotter than I could ever have a use for but all and all, sound pretty decent. As soon as I have a chance, I'm chucking a set of GFS "Classic II" humbuckers in there.

So basically, feels a bit like an SG with an uncharacteristically nice playing neck, sounds like a B.C. Rich.
