Wicked. Power filtering and regulation is still a bit of a black hole in my knowledge to be honest, but it's so important.

I use one of them power brick ac dc things from maplins, i've had it for 10 years now the thing just will not die.

I have one too and it's solid as shit. I know some people have had issues but mine is fine.
I use two power supplies to test the pedals I make; a Maplin one and a swanky Diago to make sure ti works fine with both.

It was just the fuse; I've soldered wires to a 20mm fuse and insulated it in self-amalgamating tape.
