I've recently found my delay has been acting as a slight boost in volume and seemingly a clearer tone especially when used in connection with the ocd... turn the delay off and ocd sound more muffled and a little volume is lost. I've recently started using a diago daisy... and added a few more pedals to the chain.

any idea why this might be happening ?

My pedals are set in the order:
Guitar
compressor
wah
pog
ocd / f.switch
echohead
tremelo
tuner
amp

this wouldn't be the cause, but you should put your tuner before your compressor and right after the guitar so no extra static gets picked up in your signal while tuning.

You might want to take the OCD out and play it alone to see if the muffled sound continues. Pedal order or possibly a bad cable to be the culprit as well.

The OCD could be suffering from the wahs poor bypass/buffer and the delay probably effects your signal (obviously) it doesn't just delay the dry signal and leave the dry signal alone it still uns through the circuit in some way adding highs/volume ect.

thanks guys, I might just pull everything out and start afresh.

Took me a while to arrange everything... screw it down and cable tie everything up... but what the hell.

I've always used the tuner that side but maybe I'll switch it to the start of the chain.

I'm wondering if the daisy chain extender is to blame...

should the daisy chain be used in order of how the pedals are laid... consecutively ?

O.k. well a few changes and I've sorted it... not sure what it was, but it has done the trick.

I moved the compressor after the wah through choice... and moved tuner before everything as advised.

...And lastly daisy chained it all in sequential order.

Let us know how it turns out. I have been very fortunate to have a quiet signal chain. I am sure my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power 2 also helps with the isolated outputs. Of course, I only buy True bypass pedals these days which can also help.

Spent 30 mins earlier, and I've definitely remedied the problems I was having.

No boost on the delay anymore... and the ocd is sounding inherently brighter than it was, no more mud !!

I've also just started using two really high quality cables and somehow everything sounds that much better... for some weird reason I've became attached to this one cable that I've owned for about 12 years, and although i was using one decent cable from guitar to board I was using this solely between board and amp. I think it's cleaned things up a bit.

Really pleased with this setup, can't think I'd want anything else... perhaps switch the tremolo for a chorus, and also maybe switch the wah for volume but other than that it really works well for me. But that's probably if I get itchy fingers... or feet should I say...

Trying to look for some 35-40cm patch cables on net but struggling. I can position things a little better and relax some of the cabling. I do also want them to be same style as the ones I have though.

Oh, I now quite fancy a pedal train....

Do tell what the new cables are. Sweet pedalboard btw, especially jealous of your POG.

If your looking for patch cables, you may want to invest in a cable making kit. Get a run of oxygen free copper cable, some neutrik jacks and a decent pair of cutters and you'll be well sorted. Plus as well as being able to make custom runs of cable (i.e. shorter, cleaner looking and more sexy), you won't have to worry about buying cables again for a few years.

Thanks for that. Yeah George L's could be a way forward. I'm considering that, or something similar.

I have a Dimarzio cable that I've had for quite a while... bought a Bullet cable late last year and recently got a Elixir cable through work for free. Earlier I was using the dimarzio and bullet.

Somehow never really used them properly in conjunction with one another. This other generic black cable has always been the go to cable.

I recommend George L cables. Great clear signal and being thinner than normal cables they're easier to manoeuvre through small spaces between pedals. Plus they make your board look really neat and tidy. Easy to cut and dead easy to attach to the jacks, uch better than the Planet Waves Cable Station kit I used before.

Damn, that's neat !!! maybe I should invest.

Just made some general sound samples via mob phone cam... so sound / picture quality isn't great, and you may need to tilt your head a little for optimum viewing pleasure.

I have to keep things quiet at home so hearing my strumming etc isn't very pro, but anyways...

Yeah, but it's a pretty old pic. My current board is the Pedaltrain Mini above. I still use the RC-2 but mostly at home. Got my switch from Red Onion a while back.
