It would probably be fine if you did a good job, as my old woodwork teacher used to say.. the glue is stronger than the wood. (and the only reason any of my stuff stayed together!)
the whole glue is stronger thing only works when you can get a really good clean break that is easily fixed. That one woule probably need to be doweled or something to get a really good strong joint and whoever did it would have to be very good as if it is off at all, then your whole neck pocket is out of alignment and it will not be very useable.

i have played 4 or 5 different kalamazoos in my life, either this melody maker model or the old mustang copy. all of them have had the action jacked up on them about 2 inches off the fretboard. totally unplayable even for me, i don't mind high action at all
