sinister shortscale Rondo strat
There is a left hand shortscale strat on Rondomusic and it has the older style fenderish headstock. Not sure if it is th only one they have. Might make someone a nice project. I know it is hard out there for a lefty.

I was thinking of you when I posted it. Might be a nice treat since you latest neck problems.
I love mine, I did some upgrades to it. I have two Rondo guitars now, the little SX and a Douglas, They each had some minor issues but I sort of figured they would not be perfect for the price. Both guitars needed fret levels but this was really no big deal since they have big ol' frets. I think this is why they come with the big frets as well ; }

curious about that as well, their 24" tele has always called to me.Pens wrote:How does the neck feel in comparison to a Fender 24" neck?

Well, the thing is, I need to drop some cash on fixing up that SuperSonic at this point. I really want to start using that guitar. $80 isn't much but I'd have to do work to that SX before I could use it, so I'd be dropping more money in it, and I'd really just rather not have another project at this point.
Now, if the neck is decent I would be very very tempted.

The SX neck (fender looking headstock) is like a c neck more or half round, The fender 2009 duo sonic is very thin profile. That being said, the SX neck is not as broad across as the duo sonic neck. The nut on the SX is 1 1/2 inch. To be noted, the douglas 24" scale necks they have are the wider nut. The SX neck is very comfy in my hands, but the stings are closer together.
The douglas spad guitar I have is a lot more similar to my duo sonic in neck profile.
In a day or so I can post picks if you guys are interested.

Hmmm. It sounds like the SX is closer to the vintage Jag neck then, which I like.
I don't see a shortscale Douglas lefty though, so doesn't matter. However, they do have a few different shortscale strats there. I kinda like this one though I don't want all the extra crap:

They also have a single humbuck shortscale however I hate maple fretboards.

Trying to talk myself out of this.

Anyway, I didn't realize they had the better looking headstocks left. Then I saw one in their email adds and thought someone might b interested. When I got mine I figured for $80 bucks if it is shit i can bring it out back and shoot it with guns. But Rondo has a good return policy so you don't have to do that unless you want to.

you bastards... now you got me looking at these...
fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu...
If they are like the full sized sx strats then they are routed per pup, not swammin pool.

im not sure about the single coil one but on the single humbucker mine was routed for just the humbucker and it stops after that so adding pickups would require extra routing. but the humbucker area is like a kiddy pool if you will so you could put pretty much any pickup there with some slant
ill try and snap a picture of the route for the single hum one tonight

THIS. This is why I want one. This one: http://www.rondomusic.com/eg134pbu.html. I've got some other plans for the neck as well.cur wrote:The nut on the SX is 1 1/2 inch.
