Can someone compare the playability of the Mustang (like the '65 Reissue) to the CP Jaguar Special HH?
I have the Jag. It has a 9.5" radius and a width of 42mm at the nut.
The '65 Stang has a 7.25" radius and is 41.3mm at the nut.
I really like the playability of my modern Jaguar, but I have small hands and am mostly a rhythm playing blues chorder, not a shredder/soloist. The rounder fretboard profile is supposed to be better for chording, right? My other nice guitar is an SG Classic. Love the tone and the looks of the SG, but I *HATE* the neck.

Both guitars are 24" scale. Kinda depends what neck radius you like. I have a AVRI Jaguar with 7.25" radius and a Squier CV Duo Sonic with a 9.5 radius. The 7.25" radius on the Mustang is going to be chunky. I have larger hands and I like both. You might want to talk to Mike. He currently owns a Vintage Jag, CP Jaguar, Custom Duo Sonic and he also had a 65 RI Mustang before he had the CP Jag. He could definitely give you some good info there.

I own a 65 RI Mustang, and my bandmate has a CP Jag HH. Besides the Radius, it has also bigger frets. I prefer the vintage style fretboard, but my mate comes from the Gibson side of things, so he likes humbuckers and a flatter radius. For solo playing, the Mustang can be a bit tricky. for chords, it may be easier. Concerning their sound and the trem, these guitars are very different from each other.

i have an avri jag and an hh jag. there's definitely a difference in the necks you feel right away. at the end of the day, i prefer my hh's neck, but i like the avri's a lot, too. for me, the difference isn't so striking that i can't adjust seamlessly between the two. . . certainly not stark enough that i would favor playing different styles for each.
