Thanks. Yeah,I think witch hats are cool too. All the the original 1981 Customs I have seen had the speed knobs. I'm not sure when Gibson used witch hats.

I think the '68 customs had witch hats. even though fender guys cream their jeans over them, most les paul guys hate them. I think they're the coolest knobs ever used by gibson. followed by the black or amber bell knobs, followed by black reflector knobs. really not a fan of any of the other knobs they've used.

I like the reflector knobs in black/silver the best. My Jaguar has had them since the 2nd day I got it (took them off my SG). They're like an aesthetic cross between a bell knob and a witch hat. I kinda wanna replace the amber bells on my Les Paul with amber/gold reflectors.

Here are photos of 2 allegedly "all original" 1981 Goldburst Les Paul Customs but one has a white switch tip and one has a black switch tip. Which color do you think it really came with from the factory?

The white looks considerably better than the black one.

Yeah you are right. Actually I just found out that the white one was original. I met the guy who was the original owner of my guitar. Here is a photo of my guitar when he owned it in the 80's. He said everything on the guitar is original in that picture.

Thanks! Yes I will keep that one. I always wanted a Les Paul Custom. Yes,I know I always say I wanted this or that guitar but the Les Paul Custom Is The Guitar I wanted the first time I bought myself a guitar. I wanted a Les Paul Custom because I saw Mick Jones with one in a copy of some fan magazine, maybe Trouser Press. I couldn't find a photo of Mick Jones with that guitar until today so I though I imagined it but here it is.

He had a white one too.
