Tempted to try out the .12s... the bulk packs are like $2 a set.

Im using the 12-52 set on my Ibanez right now. It sounds good, my finger acid doesnt eat through them like ernie ball strings (i think someone else here might have that issue too. i might be wrong though). On a 25.5 guitar it retains playable tension from B to E, but i usually do C or C#.

honestly, I don't really see the point in skimping that much on strings. d'addarios only cost $5. it's worth that much to me to have a decent bright set of strings. even if you change your strings a dozen times a year that's still only $60 a year.
cogito ergo sum...thing or other...

If they did a wound G, I'd be willing to check them out provided they're decent, though. I break strings a lot. Any money not spent on strings, however little, is beer down the gullet.

I bought the 12s, I didn't like them. The g was wound, or at least I'm pretty sure, I bought these in september or something. They broke regularly for me, always in the worst situations. I'm way happier spending a bit more for something I'm more comfortable playing with, plus I've been getting along with some flat wounds pretty well.

I will say, those cables they make are great. It evened out my purchase mostly.

Just as well I guess... I really prefer the heavy bottom, light top type of strings over straight .12s.
