I need to own this.timhulio wrote:The first grumbly wolf with a laser-cut relief. Pretty pleased how this turned-out!
What I did with this pedal was to epoxy the design (lasercut from 1.2mm aluminium sheet) onto the bare enclosure. Painted it with black primer, wet-n-dry the paint off the front of the pedal, exposing the shiny alu. Then a couple of clearcoats.

Cheers dude. I do like the effect of the cutout, and the guy said even more complicated stuff is possible, so expect more in future. Bonus is that no-one else seems to be doing stuff like this, so it's kinda unique (at the moment).Black Cat Bone wrote:Bloody hell Tim, that looks the business!
Yep, the OD is a Dist+, with germanium or silicon clipping, and the switch selects the ring mod.cobascis wrote:So is the OD portion of this a direct Dist + clone? Then the ring mod kicks in?
Totally. In world of Hammond boxes a little extra flair can be a really nice touch. Hhrrrrmmm I want one so it must be working. Got any plans for a HP design like this?? Not that I'm hinting....timhulio wrote:Cheers dude. I do like the effect of the cutout, and the guy said even more complicated stuff is possible, so expect more in future. Thanks Mike!
Well if you wanted an HP in this enclosure style with a lasercut wolf I'd happily take it on as a custom job, same price as a normal HP. It'd just take a week or so to turn it around.Black Cat Bone wrote:Totally. In world of Hammond boxes a little extra flair can be a really nice touch. Hhrrrrmmm I want one so it must be working. Albinilol. I'm expecting a telling-off one day for using the word 'Shellac' in my auction listings. In fact, I'm looking forward to it.
Ah, just google-imaged 'albini' and found this, a page all about the Electrical Guitar Co Custom 500. Mine is #85 woot!

Due to buying of Aen goods I'm sans cash for the next two paydays however, and i know this sounds a bit odd as we both actually have and sell HP versions, but would you be interested in a new Chuck collins in trade for a custom Frederic HP?? Way i see It i'd like to compare the two and maybe you'd like to check out a CC?timhulio wrote:Well if you wanted an HP in this enclosure style with a lasercut wolf I'd happily take it on as a custom job, same price as a normal HP. If so is there options for a custom colour? I'd be into a sort of billious green with a red LED because I have no taste. Something a bit obnoxious anyway.

Hhmm colour me interested dude. At the end of the day if you don't fancy a straight trade I'm happy to let you borrow my own HP if ya want to try one out for a bit.

Classy?! Damn you!
Okay well a poncy violet led would look super sharp against the white and silver (iPerc!), as would blue. I note these dudes do self-changing rainbow leds also... could be amazing or could be a bit cheese (bottom of page - thoughts?):

EDIT: White LED too much?!

Tim, that pedal looks class! If I wasn't so skint i'd probably buy one from you.
It reminded me that I should probably provide a testamonial for the Harmonic Percolator that I bought from you back in, I think, November last year. It has only just made it onto my pedal board.
'I bought this pedal on a whim as I love Steve Albini's sound and was curious as to what my set up would sound with a Harmonic Percolator. I loved the pedal from the off but never got around to putting it on my pedal board so kind of forgot about it for a few months. This was until I started getting bored of my TS9DX so took it off my board and thought I would try the HP to see what it could do with the rest of my kit. To my surprise it provided the overdrive sound that I have had in my head for ages but never seemed to be able to achieve with any of my pedals. It is distorted, but not too much, has a nice bright sound and a really tough bottom end that I can't get with anything else. It reminds me of Duane Denison's guitar sound on all those old Jesus Lizard records, in other words - awesome! I love the fact that it doesn't have a tone control so it sounds exactly like my guitar but with more dirt. I love the sound of this pedal so much I may have to get the Utility Percolator too and set them up for different levels of drive. Mark Harman - guitarist, Episode One.'
