Buckethead Sig Les Paul? 27" SCALE MANLINESS

Post by Dave »

What doth shortscale think? I kinda dig. I understood his actual white Les Paul was a 25.5 scale but his sig is 27". A pic of both his main guitar and the signature below.

Its kinda missing the stuff I like about his real one - the white hardware, the stormtrooper head tone pot, Dimarzio X2N humfuckers...all of these are vital to avoid tone suck as I understand.

Full specs and pics here:

He doesn't use the x2ns anymore. Last time I saw him (few months ago) he was playing duncans and had a black headstock (lp custom?)

couldn't tell you about the scale but the two kill switches are awesome! I was in the front row and he leaned down and I jammed out on the kill switch while he RIFFED. Best. Day. Evar.

I do not have JUMBO HANDS so I don't think I could handle a 27" scale guitar

The link should have a NSFW warning, as it contains furious masturbation.
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player, that struts and frets his hour upon the stage, and then is heard no more; it is a tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

I'm all man yo but my baby mits would have serious issues coping with that scale - its super wide nut width too. Fuck you genes, give me back my long fingers and thick hair.

Fran, I want to see you demo this model one day. If I win the lottery I will buy you one and I shall shred vicariously through you.

Maybe they invent robot hands i can wear.

Haze don't ever wash that hand. Rad story bro! He never seems to tour in the UK. I've got this idea of making fake ATP festival posters called ATP: Masquerade and featuring Devo, Residents, Nash the Slash, Buckethead, Gwar and any other avant garde freakos. Then hope they actually do it.

yeah, why no white hardware? that's totally the coolest part.
I love that Gibson takes the time to write so much about the guitar. every single feature is thoroughly explained. Fender never does this shit.

didn't randy rhoads already do this?
the actual signature model looks like a poor (and typically gibson) execution.

no white hardware, no pickup covers, no custom headstock logo, cheesy looking kill switches, and black truss rod cover = FAIL.

Do want white-out Les Paul with a no-inlay ebony fretboard. Binding, white headstock but with the detail, white near hidden kill switch button, white hardware and all that jazz, though with a few small changes.

- robroe humbucker covers
- white screws on the mounting rings
- no storm trooper knob
- no pink switch
- nice looking plain white knobs, like ivory bell knobs with a black dot for positioning

Do not want the nonsense Gibson are charging four grand for.

Other than that I agree ;) . Although I kinda dig the sig 'as is' I just think they are missing a couple of tricks with it at that price especially the white hardware.

Actually has anyone ever seen white hardware on a production instrument? Maybe its just normal hardware sprayed with ghetto white spray can ....
