So i was wondering if people make something that i could plug 2 instruments into, it would have switches to select which one i was using and then it would just run into my pedal board then into my amp. So I could run a lapsteel and a normal guitar and just switch between them. like a reverse amp switchers almost? I dont know if im making since, pedal creating people help me out.

hmm, not sure. I think In 1 goes to the 1 switch and In 2 goes to the 2 switch. if you had a stereo reverb or chorus or something I guess you could do it though. I'm not sure though, you'd have to check the manual.

You need an ABY to have the option for both to be plugged in. To be honest, given the impedance problems you get from plugging two guitars into the same source, I wouldn't bother with that.

Totally true at least with yer bog stnadard circuits for ABY. I have a cheap but cool kit I built form Musikding.de and it works great for two-amp attack but when i ran the theremin and guitar at the same time it really doesn't cut the mustard for usability.
Maybe there are ABY boxes designed for this specifically that have extra tech built in to compensate?

What was OLD box someone posted a few months back that did this? It had 16 or so inputs and one output. Looked like a steel loaf of bread. I'm thinking it was made to plug multiple instruments and microphones into one amplifier.
To switch easily between instruments, just get yourself a single snapjack cable and then a set of extra connectors and leave the connectors plugged into your other instruments. When it's time to switch, just pull the cable off one and slap it on the other. I believe this would be quieter than switching cables normally.
Hey Isaac I have an A/B switcher that works backwards you can try out. I hook up two guitars to the outputs and the pedals to the input to switch between two guitars. Works fine but you can't choose both guitars. You need an A/B/Y switcher for that.
