I have been hoping to score a used one and when I went to Music-Go-Round today. they had this one for $49.99. I have read onlone that some of these can be noisy unless you use a battery as a power supply but this one works fine.
I have just been using it with clean models on VOX VT30 but when mygirlfriend wakes up(she works nights) I will plug it into my little Silvertone amp and party like it's 1966!
I had this pedal and sold it to Chicago Mike. It would pickup radio stations if I touched the case while it was engaged. I used an isolated power supply, but couldn't fix the problem. I like a very quiet signal chain, so I sold the pedal. Very sensitive controls made it tough to get the sound I was looking for. My MBM Fuzzface also has Germanium transistors and gives me lots of the same sounds plus some.
This seems to be a bit of a sleeper in EHX's range: came out to a chorus of disappointment, but I'm increasingly hearing what a useful and comparatively unique OD pedal it is. Think that sag is a little too OTT for my tastes (as far as overdrives go, at least) but I'd quite like the chance to mess with one. Can any of our pedal science correspondents report on how similar it is to a Rangemaster?

I dig this thing a lot. I do think it works better on batteries though which is a bummer but oh well....it's friggin loud tho!
Really dig the dying amp sounds! They're really fun for that lo-fi shit.
