The Squier Tele Custom MUST be used with a tube amp, anything less and you're going to find the pups lacking. I've been using a Crate "V" Series 1512 my girlfriend of 23 yrs found at a yard sale. She came home and said "I think I saw an amp" I took the gigbag which had my Tele Custom guitar, cable, tuner, and extra batteries for my mini AC-30, (AAA, AA tuner and nine volt for Honeytone which were in the bag). It was approx a mile and a half away and had a loose input jack nut that caused a crackle (easy fix) and needed a cleaning which was done as soon as I got home. For $40.00 and batteries so they could show off the three big screen TV's they were selling I got a fantastic amp. Once I plugged the Squier Tele Custom in it came alive. I had been using a Hartke G15R which is fine for the bedroom. I also acquired a Crate GT 80-DSP semi-tube, but the "V" Series is a champ, superb tone, no effects, all juice. Most times it's NOT the pickups it's the amp.
BTW with the batteries I gave them they sold the three TV's even though they were analog, as we're in a lake community an hour outside NYC in NW N.J. and we have numerous summer homes serviced by cable, so for being a nice guy I got a great deal. Once cleaned, input jack nut tightened, checking the cord and a treatment of Armor All it looks and operates like brand new.
Actually I don't think it ever saw much use prior to me as the tubes look mint, the only thing missing is the "badge/nameplate" from the grill which I'm still waiting for Crate to send. I knew it was something special when I realized it took a minute or two to warm up, with my head injury I had forgotten that trait of tube amps. I did see the Crate tag on the rear cavity and that's the reason I bought it, I had no idea as to what a steal it was until I got home and googled it. The people/guys I bought it from worked the stagehands union in NYC for Broadway and concerts so they knew it was valuable, they did well with the three TV's and they appreciated me giving them the batteries as it was a family members home they were cleaning out for the weekend. It pays to be helpful/nice.
Any problems with new Squier Jagmaster ?

I've just acquired a Jagmaster from Ebay.
Ordered a couple of 'Twangmaster' pickups from Axes R Us. Wasn't it established that they're pretty much the same as the GFS 'Vintage Split' buckers?
Looking to replace the trem immediately. It'll be one of the Wilkinson models, but I'm unsure as to which ones will drop straight in. Sorry if this has been covered before, but nothing seemed to come up in the search function!

It's one of the post 2005 models; conversion neck and all. Trem arm is missing anyway, and I'd rather get a whole unit with the solid block etc.
What saddles did you put on?

Hehe thanks. Yeah GFS, surprisingly, are quite accurate about the types that fit correctly, but there seems to be little indication on other sites as to what is appropriate! Will be buying from within the UK anyway.
