Note that the bridge is NOT stock ! Someone has buggered that otherwise fantastic specimen of the Lead Series. In fact if you look closely I'm positive the body had been routed to accept the bridge. It's lost all its' "collectibilty" value. To top it all off I just saw a original replacement bridge, for $125.00.
Boy am I glad I got my Fender Lead II and Lead III when I did. I've even swapped off the necks for recent production Squier (rosewood) fretboard for the Lead II and Starcaster maple/maple fretboard on the Lead III to save the originals from wear.
Just noticed the headstock has been drilled for a locking nut as well. What a shame. Now it's a candidate for Pro Sound Project where they restore Lead Series Guitars.

The only guitar I own that isn't hacked to holy hell is the m-80. Because well, it's perfect as is.
Swapping necks, really man? You're just denying it mojo. It's a guitar not a mutual fund. Rock that shit.

isnt that ridiculous
why dont you just play the squier then?
and if an when it needs a fret job it gets one!
who are you saving this guitar for?
shouldnt owning it and picking it up be a joy without wondering what it may do to the value?
