I think it would depend quite a bit on what you wanted rehoused. Some stuff will be a lot more difficult than others. Rehousnig can be a nightmare so you'll need to spill the beans to get a taker.

I'd be quite interested in getting my Dano pedals re-housed too, not because i'm ashamed of them and want to disguise them but because i'm a bit concerned about how long the switch will last. Also the way the pedal and switch are designed I have to stomp on them in a certain way to activate them, if they had a regular switch like in the photo above it seems like I wouldn't have to worry about this.

I would be interested if anyone can do this for me, but I guess it would depend on cost as to whether I actually get it done. I would prefer them to be housed lengthways in an MXR sized box as opposed to width ways as shown above - they'll fit better on my pedal board that way.

There's a thread on TGP that details a guy's rehousing of a dano mini. He warns it's quite a bitch. I remember reading this and thinking "fuck it" and just keeping them the way they are.

Yeah, I thought about doing it with a Tuna Melt but it looks nightmarish at points and costs as much as the pedal itself. Better to just commission Mike to make a clone or something.

I also thought about making a little bypass loop box it can sit in, always turned on, and you just switch it in and out of the chain with the loop.

You've got a very good point Doog. Then again despite the cost and hassle I quite like the sense of ghetto-hacking from this kind of thing. The Cool cats look pretty straightfoward to replace the casing but then again they don't really need it. The plastic ones look beyond my ability to do and expensive with it.

I really do want to rehouse my ARION SAD 1 at some point basicly because the case is beginning to get a bit rickety. That blog guy I linked to above has done one and what's interesting is he has added two stereo-in jacks as well as the stock two outs. I've a couple of pedals with stereo outs but always wanted to be able to put several stero pedles in line and I'm guessing that would make this possible?

Yeah I don't do this work because it's a pain in the arse. I would always prefer to just build the thing from scratch and do a better job of everything like knob placement and bypass and all that malarkey.

I did a Small Clone for Viva that was ok, but some stuff is just horrible. Electronic switching pisses me off. I don't want to go back to school to true bypass your fucking Danelectro pedal, youtube randoms.

Get over to freestompboxes.org and do a search for +chicken +salad. They turn up in a rehousing thread with a mention or two of tutorials elsewhere.
