I was going to say something similar, but not as good.

as cool as the neck is, and i love it...i'm guessing it's more shredder style than most peeps on here dig.

That's a TB-1000. Foals suck ass. Shred sucks ass. Foals and shred have a fair bit in common it seems.

Aluminium necks are kinda cool, but nothing special. My Musima can sound as abrasive as my Electrical, but only one goes out of tune the instant it gets hotter or colder.

+1 - also Steve Albini didn't have the Bean in Big Black 'twas a custom double cutaway tele made by Flynn guitars which wasn't Alu I think. Big black sound was harsh-as. if anything Shellac is a warmer guitar sound. A lot of it is in the EQ of the sound whether by knob twiddling or by default of the kit used.

Tim is there better sustain over say, a one piece neck-through body in wood?

Ok, I kinda love the look of this guitar! That is a really cool looking paint job (if not terribly original) though I'd say that blue underneath might look even better (looks a bit like fender's Maui Blue).
The necks aren't too shreddery but the fret board is pretty flat and mine tires out my hand.
The only real problem with that guitar is that I'm pretty sure they had some wicked neck dive on 'em.

I played one recently. 8lb neck on 2lb body.....totally unbalanced and weird feeling. Looks cool however.
