Hi,
been reading this forum for a few months and decided to finally register. A few weeks ago, I bought a 1972 Competition Mustang off Ebay and been in love with it. Recently had it set up for .011's strings and it is amazing. Other than a little fret buzz and a finnicky switch, this all original Mustang is still in very good shape and plays great!

Thanks for the welcome!
I think I got a reasonable deal. $960 plus shipping. I am from Portland, OR (forgot to put that in my profile but it is there now).
I have seen competition Mustangs for slightly less but this was in pretty good condition and the Ebay seller had great feedback and was very candid and responsive to my questions so I am happy with the deal!

stewart,
LOVE your blue one. My goal is to collect one of each color but I can never find a Competition Orange at an affordable price!

keep your eyes peeled, i've seen a couple of beat up/modded orange ones go for under a grand (in $) in the past 3 months or so. one was a matching headstock, one wasn't.
i'll direct you to the obligatory jizz-generating thread where rodvonbon shows off all his vintage compstangs:

looking at this picture again...i know i love sparkles and all but i think this is the hottest mustang i've ever seen...and i'm not even a comp stripes fan and usually don't like pearloid pg's. i think i'm falling for candy apple red or something because i was drooling over those melodymaker pics too. haha
