Cream City Music had it in stock. They also have a few more Candy Apple Red, '66 Reissue Jags, and a sunburst '66 Reissue Jag. Originally, I only intended to try out the guitar, to determine if I wanted another Jag, since the list price of $1250 (which every place I found online that's selling these, is really asking for them) was beyond what I could spend for one. If I decided I wanted a Jag, I was going to order a Classic Player Special, since it was more in-line pricewise, with what I could afford. But as I mentioned, when I was quoted a price of $700 for the '66 Reissue, it was no brainer for me, to get it.

Late to the party; very nice looking guitar there! I'd happily have one of those and I like CAR, unlike some around here.

Cases: I bought my first Strat in '73 in Germany and it came with nothing. My mate persuaded his German friend to buy a better case for his guitar and I got his cardboard case (black skin, orange plush). I bought my Flying V in Cardiff in 2000 and it came with nothing, but the guy in the shop was so horrfied at the thought of me walking along the street with a naked Gibson that he rustled up a used gig bag - which I now use for my £45 J-Bass copy. I picked up a Kinsman padded rucksack-type bag for the V.

My second Strat, being a USA Standard from a couple of Christmases back, came with a decent rectangular ABS hard case that looks like a piece of miltary equipment - apparently for a few years before they had "fitted" hard cases that had a nasty tendency to split as the ABS wasn't really thick enough.

I can believe it. I remember back in the 80s, when my boyfriend at the time, had a Sienna Sunburst Strat. It came with a molded rectangular Fender case, that the hinge anchors (they were these bayonet type things, with arrowheads on the ends, that were supposed to anchor in the liner material, or else wrap around the metal edge) kept on coming out of his case! Sheesh! I never had that problem with my Fender cases. My old '84 Squier Strat's stock case was very solid. Ditto for the case for my first Jaguar, and my old Toronado (a nice guitar, if I do say so myself - I never would have sold it, if it weren't for a money crunch I had in early 2000 or 2001).

Your Jaguar is a beauty. I have a candy apple Strat, but it looks so so much nicer on a Jag!
