Warmoth?

Warmoth?
Has anyone here ever ordered a custom guitar from warmoth? I had a simple, yet stupid question about them. When you order a guitar from them do they assemble it for you or do they just mail you the parts? If the latter is true than i think that is an awful ripoff, considering that it's impossible to construct a guitar using their parts for under a grand. I was just wondering, as it may be the only way i will ever achieve the superstrat of my dreams.

if you're dreaming about superstrats, that's what we call a nightmare.
as far as their assembly, i can't say, but everyone i know that's ordered stuff from them says it takes for god damn ever. can't you just track down a flamed maple set neck showmaster SSS?

Haha, yeah i know it's weird...but i have this strange desire to have an incredibly cheesy 80's superstrat. Sometimes i'm afraid i'm turning into icey lol. But i can imagine going to a band audition, whipping out this strangly out of place 80's guitar and getting laughed at, then shredding their faces off.
Something like this would be ideal! Strat body, cheesy bright red color w/ maple neck. Floyd rose original locking tremolo! A neck pickup would be nice, but the single pickup/volume control only setup is strangely appealing. Sadly it would cost about $1200 to order this simple guitar from warmoth.
My cousin has a showmaster HSS. It's a nice guitar, but just not for me. I desire unpainted necks and locking trems.

Oh, are you a kramer/charvel fan too? Some of the more desirable kramers can go for pretty high prices on ebay because of the EVH connections, Theres a small company called mean street guitars which i completely forgot about that makes kramer, strat, and peavey copies for relatively cheap prices.mickie08 wrote:ebay and pawnshops dude. You can find old charvels and Kramers for pretty cheap (not the bad import ones either)

Depending on the pawn shop, you can find some cool stuff. If there's a Music Go Round in your area check them out too (or just check their website as they will ship at a decent price). Otherwise, perhaps try Guitar Fetish necks and/or bodies?
Lol i love the way you worded that. I mean, take a look at that kramer baretta...would you be caught dead playing that on stage these days? I will definitely check out those sites. Does anyone else here have a guilty pleasure for 80's superstrats? I think i will sell my epiphone supernova soon, to make funds for the ultimate superstrat.BacchusPaul wrote:Yeah, go second hand, rather than trying to build a new guitar. Superstrats really, really aren't popular now, and you can get a shocking amount of guitar for your money.

I'd rock one.
