Fran came over to the casa del prog for a few hours of riffage. ended up jamming rush's back catalog, with me on bass. traded fran my faithful old p bass for a couple of pedals, one of which was this

i'm quite liking it, quite bright sounding. almost fuzz like at higher gains.

the other pedal, which remains secret due to national security  ,sounds great and is effect i've never got on with till now. stacks well with over pedals and makes a nice boost too.

That DMM looks a bit mental! What's going on with the switch and green button?

it doesn't do anything, plus the chorus section doesn't work. it's a vintage one. but the sound of the delay is amazing. might send it to mike to work out whats going on in there.

it's really quite a good pedal. The leslie and univibe models are brilliant, instant floyd and beatles. The whammy can do the morrelolz and radiohead, but more important for me it nails the owner of a lonely heart solo. The wahs are pretty good, being able to tweak the q is useful. The space station is fun to play with, acutally gets me close to with or without you, instead of forking out for an ebow.

I've always wanted one to fix my space station and whammy kick. Doesn't it have drive sounds for each setting? I remember one of the expression series they made had a convincing Hendrix drive and wah sound. I've been hunting for a small foot print pedal that does a simple octave up for a My Iron Lung sound but haven't come up with anything, but that expression factory has always been an option.

It defo nails my iron lung. I got that shiver factor from it. The overdrives vary. Skip the metal ones and the big muff models. The rat and dod od250 models sound great, though not for how much they are like the originals.
At the moment, I've left it in leslie mode with the rat model.

God, i love this EX-7. defo put off the need to get an M9 for now. great for adding colours to songs and getting the right sounds for certain stuff. owner of a lonely heart was right on the money at band practise. the whammy's detune mode was great for the 80's chorus sounds i needed. the space station in octave down mode did the deeper underground synth intro brilliantly.

DLS is back on board, missed it and found the OD-2 to be a little fizzy higher gain (still love it though). can't wait to get my DMM project on the go so i can replace the time machine with it, though the time machine is still a great delay.

I finally took some photos of my Fuzz Factory copy.

Here's how it was quite a while ago.

Image

And here's it with the decal. I tried to take a couple so you can see how the decal sticks up a little. My printer is a bit rubbish, so the frog has a few flaws. You can see in the middle picture that there's a stripe of slightly lighter green (parrallel to the text and going from below the head to the back left leg) but overall I'm happy with it.

Ive been kinda wanting to play around with reverb pedals and more delays latley, a cathedral would be nice, I feel like that boss RE20 the space echo pedal would be perfect for what i want to do. I want to play a real one too, Im really interested to see how they work in a band situation. I want the one that pat is selling in the classifieds so bad.

one of my friends has an original one and it's amazing... but i'd never, ever use one in a live situation unless it was in the albert hall or something. the risk of beer spillage just makes it a no-no. get the pedal instead- there's really not much difference, from what i can gather. certainly not that you'd ever notice onstage.

I've had an RE-20 for well over a year now and it's awesome. I've not had a chance to mess with a real 201, but it doesn't really matter to me how closely it matches; it is great on its own merit. If it means anything to you, their guitar tech mentioned in his blog that even Radiohead have replaced their 201s with the pedal.

I also love it on many other non-guitar sources like, well, just about everything. Definitely go check one out at a shop, and make sure to download and read the manual ahead of time and maybe even take it with you. Things you might not know is that you can get up to 7 seconds of delay by using the tap tempo if the pedal is set right, and you can use an expression pedal to control a few of the parameters.

Also keep an eye on the used market, as they frequently go for around $200 here.
