lulz @ Fender

I know you can get the thin skins in nice colours, but the AVRI now only comes in black, white and sunburst. Imaginative as ever.
ice blue metallic, too.

That's odd, they have the IBM picture at the bottom but in the spec list it just says..
Colors: (800) 3-Color Sunburst,
(805) Olympic White,
(806) Black,
(Nitrocellulose Lacquer Finish)
Shabba.

you might be right, though. mf still has ibm as an option, too, but sam ash doesn't. maybe they have sales data to backup their weak selection?

I had some roundwound .011s on my Jaguar and had the same problem with the high E. So i slapped some flatwound .012s onnit and theres no more buzz.
That's cos the thicker strings means more tension and bends the neck a bit more making the action higher. Adjusting the action with 11s would have the same effect.

Flat vs round does not affect buzz but does affect sound/tonality quite a lot - possibly in a good way, possibly in a bad way. It depends on what sound you like, what other gear you have, how you play, etc.

I bought my used AVRI Jag from Guitar center in New York off their used website (I live in Dallas). Mine is sunburst and it was mismarked for $700. Find of a lifetime for me. $1100 is a good price for a used one. I like the Fiesta Red. You can find some good deals on Guitar Center's website (used section)

It's a big purchase so get the colour you want. Don't go for Fiesta Red if it's a little cheaper or available sooner when you really want OTM.

You should really consider the Thin Skins. There are a few differences in spec and it will hold it's value well. I think they're 7.25" radius.

They shipped it directly to my house in a Gibson box no less. I think they added shipping and tax onto the final tally. The guitar cost me $700 and the final bill was $775.

Honestly, I was so nervous they were going to renig on the deal when they saw they had mispriced it, I just completed the sale before they could change their minds.

What is OTM?

that last point probably has to do with how guitar center controls its inventory nationwide.

and sales tax can be charged to out of state buyers if the business has a physical presence in the buyer's state.
