so while wandering around guitar stores all afternoon (feeling good after having sent my final payment to rob(OG) for that jag) and still loathing my fender fm100H head that i've been playing through. i went off with the intent of picking up a one trick pony, a Peavy Windsor Link. single channel etc.. and a shop had them on at $299.. so why not
well it turns out that they had sold their last two recently.. wouldn't bring another one in blah blah blah..
so i checked out a Marshall MA100H Link for kicks..
certainly a bit more then a one trick pony.. but came in at around 800 bucks.. and really not a marshall worth buying.
so i said fuck it and wandered to another shop
spent an hour and a half shooting the shit with a couple guys that work there (and i know from playing gigs with them etc..) before wandering over to look at amps
spotted the Vox AC100CPH Link sitting around.. marked down to 650..
i guess some dude had it on lay-a-way then moved cities and was not coming back for it.. so they figured they would knock off 300 bucks.
had a smoke then figured i should test it out.
they had a `66 jag ri hanging on the wall (1799? WTF!) so i figured i'd try it with that..
dialed it up to my standard settings T10 M3 B6
and in about 45 seconds on each channel i was sold.
haven't been able to test it in a band situation yet, as we opted to watch the canada v russia game tonight.
but i'll be giving her the break in tomorrow, and if i remember i'll grab my camcorder and do an demo.
so for now i just have shitty cell phone pics.

(note i'll also be deciding on if i should continue to rock this into my fender cab [100w 4ohm] but set at 8ohm.. or run these two 16ohm univox cabs that the band has that are 6x10 each... as the 4x12 may cause some issues down the road..)

also it turns out that i am too impatient to wait for the Dwarfcraft amp head becoming a public item for purchase

totally waiting for this myself

Those CP Voxes sound pretty good for the price. Definitely does a good AC30 sound, really chimmey. And the second channel does some good rock tones.

yeah i tried it out on a Marshall 4x12 cab
it def brought what i was looking for.

i also tried the vox combos but they didn't have the crunch that i was hoping for.. but i did not need another combo amp anyways.

really amazing amps, especially for the price. i see em on CL for $500 around here. i would like one, except i can't get over how disruptive those front controls are.

i filmed an demo with my tele elite for this earlier today, and then on my way home promptly forgot my camcorder in the glove compartment of my buddies car.
so.. hopefully i'll run into him tomorrow and grab it
otherwise it might not be up until next weekend.

its a super short demo..
but i then filmed him doing some widdly widdly shit through it with his peavy raptor.. so i may splice that into the video as well.

i'm looking forward to the demo.. have been wondering about that head.

isn't the drive channel supposed to be more 'modern rock' voiced? like, fairly saturated gain?

finally grabbed my camcorder back yesterday
pulled down the videos.. and umm looks like i only got the rough clean channel recorded..
but no dirt..
so.. i'll just charge the camera and do another demo on wednesday

i have a small clip of KP playing his peavy raptor through it doing AN RIFF but.. he has expressed that he does not want to be on youtube..

good buy on that amp, but i can assure you, when the love buzz amps come out in full swing you will be kicking youself in the dick for not waiting.
the latest version i heard was heaven to my ears and i wanted to give up all my gear just to own one.
imagine the best cleans EVAR, combined with the BEST dirty overdrive channel you have EVER heard.
(mike this is your chance to chime in about marshall and have me shoot you down)

it should be noted that this VOX head weighs 57.9lbs!

Love Buzz will have ADDED weight, it will weigh as much as a full grown man. It will come with a North Face backpack and Vicodin as well.

actually it feels lighter than my 68 bassman head.
but it doesn't have a full box around it, just keep in mind, our amp man derrick is a fuckingf mastermind and makes any sort of tweaks that aens or i say. he is a true amp guru. and i say that becuz i found heaven with my 68 basssman, and then another heaven with my bassmen 10 and the love buzz amp kills both of those in one shot with my 2x12 closed back cab.
i honeslty think that this head will be the new stanard in cleans and gain stages, altho i may be biased.
just wait for a demo, then you will shit yourself.
