I'm betting it is a 57 because of the humped block inlays. I had a 57 Streamliner that is essentially the same guitar with one pickup. Nice.

The recent Japanese ones I have tried in the shop have felt really great. Trying to justify the price at the moment (mostly to my wife) is difficult, but will probably sell some stuff to fund one in the next year or two.
one of my mates has a japanese tennessee rose, it's a cracking guitar. quite dark sounding, but in a good way. i think he picked it up second hand for about £900, a bloody good price. i suppose you'd be a bit harder pushed to find a second hand lefty though.

i'm also surprised at how little the 60s anniversarys go for. there was a mid 60s one on ebay recently that sat at £1500 and didn't sell. it's sunburst though... i suppose it's the early 60s green ones that are the most desirable. ooh look, i'm waffling...

Yeah totally - lefty is a bit of a push.
Have set up a search on the bay just in case, but not much comes up at all.
Saw a green lefty one the other day for £1650...
