short strings!

Post by dezb1 »

Changed my choice of strings from d’addario to dean markley only to find the deans are too fuckin short for my epiphone Riviera (they do however sound great on my Tele). Why would they make them so fuckin short? PRICKS

I remember having similar problems stringing my Epiphone Emperor Regent, but moreso with some brands than others.

Could we be dead geeky and measure the strings we buy before we put them on our guitars? That way we could make a database of string lengths and then we'll know what is or isn't too short for a particular guitar.

It would actually be handy to know which brands/types of string are too short for trapeze tailpieces.

I bought the wrong length flatwounds for my bass once, that really sucked. They're super 'spensive.

Exactly. Measuring string length sounds really nerdy, but it'd be useful.

Would like to know which manufacturer makes the longest strings. Cannot restring my Musima Elgita without needlenose pliers with D'Addario strings- there's about half an inch spare on the high e.
