Guitar Parts Resource?

Post by rlm2112 »

What's the deal with this place?

I ordered some parts on the 19th. Did not receive an email or any confirmation that my order went through. On the 23rd, I emailed them to make sure my order went through. The next day I get a paypal email saying my package is on it's way. No email from a person or the company. The mail man attempts to deliver it on that Friday while I wasn't home, and leaves a note to pick it up at the post office after that date. So I wait all weekend, and go pick it up on Monday.

I get home excited to finish my project, and find that the most important item of the order is not there. I immediately email GPR again to let them know that I'm missing an item from my order, and politely ask them to send asap and let me know the tracking info. This was early yesterday morning. I checked my email this morning expecting some kind of response, and got nothing. I sent another email making it clear that if I didn't receive a response sometime today, I was going to stir up some shit.

There is 34 minutes of today left, and no response yet.

Has anyone dealt with Guitar Parts Resource before? Is this normal for them? It's not like this is an ebay item...this is supposed to be a business. WTF?

My experience with them is pretty much exactly in the middle of both of the two previous posts. I bought some stuff, never heard from them and about 10 days later emailed them. Then, on the next day they sent me a tracking number with teh paypal shipping verification form thing. The package then arrived before the tracking info stated it would. All of my order was in the package though. Oh, I forgot that I also called them the same day I emailed(I prefer to talk to people on the phone or in person) and they didn't answer. It was like 2pm Ohio time. I'm pretty sure they are out of Ohio.

So, my experience was overall good, kind of odd bc of a lack of communication. I'd wager that you end up with all of the stuff you bought though.

Joey has had some trouble with them recently, he ordered a rear cover plate on my behalf and they did not send it. He could not contact them at all, no answer to his calls or emails...thankfully he was able to claim through Paypal (I think). I was the one that asked Joey to order from them as I have placed a few orders before and have had no problems until now :(

Have you checked your spam box? I've had this happen to me before, I've done business with companies that their confirmations and whatnot got sent in my spam folders and it took me a while to catch on.
No.

Ya, I check it religiously to make sure I don't delete real email.

Still no response yet.

I've ordered from them once and one time only.
I placed an order for a buddy, who didn't have a charge card, to get a Mustang bridge for his Jazzmaster. They sent a buzz stop.
At the time I placed the order, I paid for 2nd day air. Even still it took a couple of days before they sent it and two more days before I received the wrong part in the mail.
By the time we got it, it was a couple of days before a show he wanted to use his Jazz for, so I thought there would be enough time for them to next day or second day the bridge we ordered.
I called them directly at the number they have on their site and explained what happened with the order and how important it was that he got the right part asap. The girl on the phone said there was no way they were going to over night a 40 dollar part (at their cost) when it would cost that much in shipping............

I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH them evER Again.

I did get the bridge eventually and they included a s.a.s.e. for me to send the buzz stop back to them in.
I mailed back an envelope filled with junk mail.

That sucks. I guess I'm going to have to call the bastards, since they don't seem to know how to use email.

Thanks. I called them on Thursday and left a message. Got an email Friday saying they are shipping the missing item, and got the PayPal email saying my package is on its way. The tracking says it was delivered today, but I am out of town for a few days. I'll make sure when I get home.

I guess calling does the trick.

Shame to hear about bad service like that, I've had the mage experience.

I've ordered from them twice and not only did it go without a hitch, on the first order they screwed up and I only had to pay for "shipping to the lower 48" for a package sent to me here clear across the Pacific, and it was here in just 8 days lol.
