more OD?

Post by lank81 »

Hi Guys,
Right now I've got a few OD / Distortion pedals but am always looking to get more. Currently, I've got an MI Audio Blues Pro OD for my Tubescreamer type tones, an OCD v4 for a cleanish boost, nice low/mid gain, or Marshallish tones on HP setting, and a Green Muff on the way from Mike. Any suggestions on another OD? Maybe something crunchier? I was thinking of maybe a Trystie Clone from Mike, or a Menatone Top Boost In a Can, or a Subdecay Liquid Sunshine. Just kickin around some ideas. Any favorites of your own?

At the risk of sounding a bit like a broken record: Catalinbread Dirty Little Secret. It's my favourite OD pedal, maybe even my favourite pedal full stop. Does low/mid gain crunch beautifully well. There are some really good demos on youtube by the Catalinbread guys and also Mike made one of a DLS clone he made.
I like the Dano Cool Cat Transparent OD, so if you can pick up a v1 second hand one I would. Else, it's a Timmy clone so you could check them out.
For high gain stuff I've got a MBM Crunch Box clone.

I know a lot of people like the DLS. I'll definitely check it out.

this is one hell of a pedal. kicks so much ass

home/rehersal playing has been OCD/DLS all the way and i love it. But live i just love pushing my Bassman with the lpb-1, I didnt even use the ocd/dls out last show, all bassman. If you can play at louder volumes i'd suggest pushing your amp for natural breakup with a saltbooster.

Fu'up me Thom, you always beat me to it!

I have a Mike DLS clone which is lovely. Maybe speak to Mike about making you something with the dls in one side and the MBMCrunch Box in the other
