Speaker Cabs Ohm Query

Post by Progrockabuse »

so i come up with a plan to try/buy either a 2x12 or 4x12 cab to use with my blues deluxe. saw a bloke recently using a hot rod deluxe through a 4x12 and it sounded really good.

going by this chart from my amp's manual. could i run a marshall 4x12 rated at 4 ohms without any issues? or could i run an 8 ohm marshall 4x12 and still use the internal speaker as well?

Seems to be the case, but don't forget about the open plug. (which could be a 1/4 to 1/8 converter plug I'm presuming)

I really like the sound of 4x10s and 2x12s in one wave. So perfect. I think you'll be fine whichever route you choose.
