Saw this on Guitar Center's used section. it's in Kentucky for $349.
Someone should snag this. I hate being poor.
http://used.guitarcenter.com/usedgear/index.cfm and search "venus"

I used to hate those but they really grew on me. If I had the money to spend I'd be buying that right now.

This one is cool, but I would rather have the sea foam green version.

I think the seafoam ones look pretty good, but the black ones just look like there's way too much pickguard.

that's really not cheap for those. IT's about average.
The m80 for $150 is however a bargain and a half. someone should jump on that.
BTW... venus ain't shortscale.

I really thought Venus was Shortscale. my bad. I thought since the Jagmaster and Super-sonic were shortscale, thought the Venus was too. I will probably want a Venus XII one day.

Agreed.
Never liked them, its just aesthetically piss poor and has no redeeming qualities. WTF is going on with that scratchplate though?

That bound neck with the angled heel is beyond cool.
They're very ugly guitars, but the ugliness is what I like about them.

Nah, its ugliness for the sake of it. Worse than Italia, very contrived design. I'm going to be sick...

Just a heads up to anyone interested in these. There is a sunburst Venus in pretty good shape with a dimebucker in the bridge position in the offset classifieds for $275 shipped. THAT is a deal.

Right you are. Thread moved.

I thought that until I played one. There's something very nice about them to play, easily one of the better Squiers I've played and probably towards the top of the Vista stuff (I really like Sublimedo's Super-Sonic, too). I guess it probably helps that you can't notice the ugly so much when you play it.
