she's wonderful, i had never seen/touched a jag-stang in person and i always said these are butt-ugly guitars. and i thought they were HUGE (in size).
but no, it's actually a quite small guitar, very confortable weight and a -yes- SPECTACULAR delicious neck. wow. though i must say, it feels pretty much exactly like my '70 blue comp'stang's neck... yum.
the color is DELICIOUS oh so wonderful and the guitar's shape is not really THAAAT ugly in real life.
mickie sent the guitar in one piece, and once more i re-assured WHY i prefer that the guitars are sent with the neck-off; the neck had somehow "shifted" to one side, so the low E sting would hang over the fretboard side where the neck meets the body, and the high E would have almost a centimeter of fret "excess". but i took the neck off and screwed it back on right and now it's much better, no prob!

the body (neck cavity) is stamped NOV96 and the neck JAN97, so it's a rather early one. wonderful wear marks (though the MOP layer on the guard if falling off!), and one HUGE chunk in the butt. no prob. i'll continue the abuse... heh heh
the volume pot is dead dead and i've already removed it and given the guitar an in-depth (once in a lifetime, then never again! it's my ritual) cleansing and i'll put a pot back in there tomorrow when the kid's outta the house with mom. already gave 'er a nice set-up.
can't wait to plug 'er in and rock 'er out. big time!
thanks mickie, it's been all great. i love teh SS forum and its people. now all i need is some of them picks...

man i can't put that thing down.
stay tuned for pics etc.
rock on!!!
Pat.
ps: quite unique maybe, that it is a '96/7 guitar with a V-serial number, but it's "crafted in japan" instead of "made..."
must be one of the first ones to carry that one, eh?
