And RobRoe's Black Duocaster is a 90's MIM Squier Strat. Apparently they were made up from leftover MIA parts.hotrodperlmutter wrote:and haze has a tele that i believe is a mexican squier.Billy3000 wrote:Yea they were for a while. Yeah for a period in the 90's, i remember the change over and the fuss that followed. All the Fender Snobs instantly dismissed the first wave of 'F' branded MIMs as 'Squier's with a different decal'. Obviously they now have the respect they deserve though.ekwatts wrote:Were Squiers made in Mexico?Asher wrote:MIM Squier Affinity Strat.
to be honest though, the early MIM fender/squiers really aren't really as nice as the current MIM fenders. they all have really cheap hardware and electronics. I would take a new affinity squier over one of those MIM squiers. cheap guitars have gotten much better in the last 10 - 15 years.
