I ain't showing shit until I got one of these in my hands, as long as I can confirm them being the first run Vistas.
I don't mean to be a dick or anything but I don't trust the internet to not go snatch them up from me, as anyone can read this thread on the internet.

you can also tell by the pickguard shape and knob location. the knobs on the vista are closer to the jazzmaster knob location, the new one has knobs in a location more like on a jaguar. the vista pickguard is more like normal jazzmaster shape, on the new one they came up with a whole new original shape; it's like the angles have been smoothed out (I have no idea why they did this, I think it looks crap).Pens wrote:Several people don't know what the fuck a "Vista" series is, and sell them for the usual price. I'm looking at three different once for less than $200 right now. I'm just trying to confirm they are Vistas, even though they all have what appears to be the Vista sticker on the headstock.

I won't offer to do it until things are nearer to going ahead but I'll keep any eye on the thread for pictures or other developments. For what it's worth I've played a few Vistas include a couple of Super-Sonics so I know the sort of thing to expect.

Sorry for the wait on the pictures, I had work today and got it tomorrow so these were taken last night so not the best but will take more in the daylight hopefully tomorrow afternoon. As I said the pickguard is a little rough at the moment and I was going to create a jagmaster type pickguard and rid the metal control plate but not sure and the screws keeping the pickups in are big at the moment because they were the only ones I had lying around. Anyway here's what it looks like at the moment.

Damn I like that. Whilst I agree with my esteemed colleague H-rodimus to an extent that kinda works for me. Maybe creamed p90 soap bars would work nice too and do an less cramped.
Did you cut the control plate to allow for the bridge plate? I can't quite tell if its cut or over lapping from those pics.

It's cut, as I said unfortunately I did my best but would love to have had it done properly, I agree it does a look a little cramped but I just love jazzmaster pickups but need a shortscale so that's why their on there. The old owner had a gibson type bridge so had to fill holes before the refinish, it was an absolute state before it came to me so I think it looks alot better now.

it's definitely been trimmed, but i think i would've done the same to the pickguard so it didn't have to sit so wonky.Black Cat Bone wrote:Damn I like that. Fo sho but all in all aside from iSupersonic (was it robroes, iceys or..?) that's the best looking FSS I've seen. It would be great to see a scratch build that incorporates those ideas and integrates them all with the scratch cut and the string through a solid body etc. But really despite my standing against this thread even being here I can't knock OPs taste at all.hotrodperlmutter wrote:it's definitely been trimmed, but i think i would've done the same to the pickguard so it didn't have to sit so wonky.Black Cat Bone wrote:Damn I like that.
