My butt puckers with glee at this guitar. Thanks HARTRARDS

There was a nice one on Offset (i think) that had a parchment guard and some other minor mods that gave it a sort of vintage 50's vibe i really liked - here it is in two iterations:

Really all this just goes to show that Fender are fucking idiots for not supporting this design with some real marketing and maybe different versions/builds/qualities/prices. It's easily the most interesting design from them in the last however long. FENDER PAY ATTENTION.

Telesonic innit. i like. Works better with the minimal straight hardtail though

but it doesn't look anything like a tele pickguard otherwise. there's just a sharp cutoff instead of the normal super sonic style.

and teles have all kinds of right angles that much up with the pickguard. on this guitar it's the only straight line on the whole guitar. sticks out like a sore thumb.

nnnyeah but i like it. Admittedly I am pretty much an aesthetic deviant when it comes to guitars and a fair bit pretentious to boot. I like crappy. I get a twisted lal-feeling when i play Daniel Johnston on my superstrat. See what i mean?

EDIT plus it goes totally with Avatar pic hyuk hyuk

I bought a strat bridge to stick in there but at the moment I just like the feel of the toronado more, maybe i'll swap it over. I need to get a new guard cut for it, might cut it so i can get rid of the metal control plate as well, a little bit more jazzmaster.

NOOOOO! Like bridge, Like control plate - you've done really well to match them up. Maybe just get a fitted pickguard to put the icing on the cake. Gotta do what you gotta do I guess but really your design sense here is on point as far as I'm concerned.

EDITYEDIT: I wonder if someone built a 25.5 version of this if the extra length woulf make the Jazzt pups less cramped?

It's making a stylistic nod. The sharp cutoff instantly reminded me of a tele.

possibly. or on that one you posted, maybe just extended the pickguard down to just before the bridge, and put the bridge pup as far down as possible. those are just huge pickup covers.

EDIT GEIN: that can't work, because it would fuck up the placement of the control plate. i say just use p90's, jag pups or those G&L asats. i don't think jazzmaster pickups look good on anything but jazzmasters.

nope i sold it to a guy who joined shortscale.....then after he bought it from me i never heard from him again.

I had to sell it because my wedding ring fell off in Lake Erie and I felt i needed to let something go that was important to me to replace it.

i do know he un-did all my mods and replaced the pickups with gibson humbuckers, then tryed to flip it on ebay for like 700 or 800 bucks. im not sure what ever happened to it.

Word. I've been tempted to fit Jaguar pickups on nearly every electric guitar I've owned in the last few years. If it wouldn't have been for the Cyclone II, I probably would have. I will never, ever tire of that boner inducing Super Sonic.
