Hello, I'm a n00b

Post by Phil O'Keefe »

Hi everyone - new member just introducing myself. :)

My name's Phil. I post a lot online in various forums, but I'm new here. Some of the folks over on Harmony Central forums (where I'm a site admin and forum moderator) told me about this place and that I should check it out, and that you guys are THE place for short scale owners. I'm in the middle of a short scale project (I started a thread about it here ) and although I've had a few short scales in the past, this is my first one in quite a while, so I'll probably have lots of questions for everyone.

Anyway, I just thought it would be polite to introduce myself so - hello. :) Nice community you have going here. 8)

Indeed. A lot of us frequent HCFX aswell.

I think Andi of our parts (Ultratwin) who works for Moollon might have met you at NAMM or something.

We've also completely nicked your NAMM and Fender Factory photos for threads in the past haha

Hi Phil. Good to meet you. I must say that the thread you guys have on a monthly basis for finding deals around the net is amazing. I have found lots of cool stuff thru that thread. Welcome!

Andi's great! It was a pleasure to meet up at NAMM. I think he's got a pic or two of that.

BTW, nick away on the pics mate - that's what they're for. :)

Thanks lorez - I'm adding a bunch of stuff to the project thread to slowly bring it up to date to where I'm currently at with it, and then as I do more, I'll continue to add more.

I already know how it's going to turn out - expensive.

I don't remember who came up with the idea for that, or for the cheap trades thread, but both were great ideas IMO, and people seem to really like them - and of course, the weekly spam thread too.

Hoisted on my own petard. ;)

I have never been banned on any website, anywhere, ever. Well, there might be one or two sites that were started up by disgruntled former members of a site I was a mod on who banned me preemptively out of spite or something  but other than that, I've never been so much as warned for being naughty. I'll certainly try to keep it that way here Melx. :)

Wow - there really are a bunch of HC folks who post here to. I'm glad to hear that. As anyone who pays any attention to what I say when things go south over there knows, I'm not against any site - if it works for you, great, and if it doesn't, why waste time complaining about it on a different forum? And of course, nothing says you can't enjoy / participate on multiple sites. :)
